Ideal Candidates
Candidates for a facelift are frustrated by the structural changes to the face that result in sagging and excessive skin at the jawline and into the neck. Facelift surgery can address the structural changes of aging but additive procedures offer improvement for loss of volume (Facial Lipo Filling) and textural aging ( BensiPeel) to improve deep lines and wrinkles from sun damage. It is important to understand that age does not necessarily define the appropriate time to have a facelift. There are many factors to consider when planning facelift surgery. Facelift patients should be in good physical health, refrain from smoking, and have realistic expectations.
Surgical Technique
Dr. Richard Bensimon performs a comprehensive, deep plane facelift and a modified facelift (in the appropriate candidate).
- Full Facelift
Considered the gold standard, the full deep plane facelift generally incorporates a well placed incision along the hairline, extending to the temples, along the ears and follows the hairline in the back of the ears. The underlying facial tissues and muscles are re-suspended and tightened to produce a lifted look, which improves the contours of the jawline, mid-face and neck. Facial Lipo Filling otherwise known as 'Facial Fat Grafting" can be performed at the same time as a facelift as well as blepharoplasty surgery (upper and lower eyelid surgery), cheek augmentation, chin augmentation, lip lift or temporal lift. - Modified Facelift Can be considered for certain individuals.
What to Expect After YOur Facelift Surgery
