Dr. Richard Bensimon is a board certified plastic surgeon with more than 25 years’ experience in helping people reach their aesthetic goals. His personally rewarding career has helped thousands of patients improve their self -image and improve their lives.

Throughout his career, Dr. Bensimon has been recognized for his expertise in aesthetic surgery and has been sought out as an educator in the United States, Mexico, Europe, Asia and Australia. As an enthusiastic educator, Dr. Bensimon has given over 100 presentations including master classes, cadaver workshops and live surgery demonstrations to his colleagues around the world. He has contributed chapters in prestigious surgical texts and is a co-author of the recently released “Centro-Facial Rejuvenation” a state-of-the-art textbook describing surgical and non-surgical rejuvenation of the face and features Dr. Bensimon’s unique experience in facial chemical peeling. Dr. Bensimon is the creator of the BensiPeel™, a modern chemical peel for the dramatic improvement of facial sun damage and wrinkles.

In recognition of his work in facial surgery, Dr. Bensimon was invited to be part of the faculty of the Melbourne Advanced Facial Anatomy Course (MAFAC), the premiere facial anatomy course for plastic surgeons founded by renowned Australian plastic surgeon Dr. Bryan Mendelson. Dr. Bensimon is proud to be the first American to be so honored.

At home in the United States, Dr. Bensimon is a member of the Connell Society, a prestigious group of elite plastic surgeons from throughout the world who were trained by or have embraced the teachings of the pioneering facelift surgeon, Dr. Bruce Connell.

Dr. Bensimon completed his undergraduate education at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, graduating with honors with a major in anthropology and a minor in art history. He earned his medical degree from the University of Michigan Medical School in Ann Arbor with honors in thoracic, general, and plastic surgery. He completed his full general surgical training program at the prestigious Columbia-Presbyterian Medical Center, followed by an in-depth, plastic surgery fellowship at the renowned Montefiore Medical Center in New York.

It is Dr. Bensimon’s mission is to provide a comfortable and pleasant surgical journey by controlling the peri-operative experience. Utilizing the most progressive techniques, he has been able to minimize post-operative discomfort, improve the duration of recovery, and increase the safety of all procedures. Dr. Bensimon’s work reveals his true skill and authenticity, attention to detail, and his ability to see the unique in everyone. His work is a wonderful blend of science and artistry performed in service to his patients.

Outside of the office.

Dr. Bensimon appreciates the vibrant film and music culture of Portland, Oregon. He is a skier, small boat sailor and scuba diver. Dr. Bensimon enjoys gourmet food and collecting fine wines. His love for people and adventure takes him around the world and when he is not lecturing or teaching he is learning from the wonderful differences that people and culture bring to the enrichment of his life.
